Industrial grade magnetic switches protect against thermal overload and automatically shut down if power is interrupted. Equipment will not restart when power is restored until the ON button is depressed by the operator.
If your machine can present a hazard to an operator when it restarts by itself, current safety standards mandate that it must be equipped with motor magnetics to control this hazard.
Not sure if your machine has magnetic contactors? Start the machine, unplug it while running. If the machine restarts when plugged back in, it does not have magnetic contactors.
Use Non-Reversing on machines that have only one direction or speed

How do magnetic starters work?
Magnetic motor controls are used as a safety system that prevents tool from restarting after a power loss occurs and power is subsequently restored.
By pressing the ON button, (not shown) a circuit is completed that energizes a magnetic driven relay which in turn closes a set of power contacts, starting the machine.
This activated electromagnetic relay "holds" the power contacts together against a spring until either the supply power is interrupted or voltage in the circuit drops below that necessary to maintain the magnetic field.
In the most common scenario, the operator presses the OFF button (not shown). This action turns off the control circuit to the electromagnetic relay releasing the contacts to open under spring pressure.
If equipped in this manner, the machine will not restart until the ON button is depressed by the operator.
